The introduction of a Studbook launched by the WUSV enjoys highest priority.

The first steps to be taken will be as follows:

- The introduction of DNA verification at a worldwide level by means of GoCards

- The introduction of HD + ED examination at a worldwide level and the certification of radiologists

FCI Plans for the Abolishment of Strokes – integral part of Protection Work

The issue was widely discussed among the WUSV Board of Directors. It was agreed that a utility respectively working dog needs to muster the ability to cope with that kind of a threat scenario. However, all relevant aspects in terms of animal welfare and protection have to be considered and unconditionally be complied with by all parties involved.

Scope of Work & Responsibilities of the WUSV Continental Directors

The Continental Directors are appointed and dismissed by the WUSV Board of Directors.

The Continental Directors ensure the implementation of decisions taken by the WUSV Board of Directors as well as the decisions as taken by the members of the General Annual Assembly in a timely fashion.

Expenses, such as for travelling, accommodation and board are to be covered by the WUSV member countries which require the services provided by the Continental Directors.

The first contact partner for the WUSV member clubs is always the secretariat general where the documents submitted will be collected and passed on to the WUSV Board members. It is exclusively within the scope of responsibilities of the Board of Directors to decide about the future procedure in individual cases, and to assign the respective Continental Director in charge of the region affected with the specific tasks required.

Certificate of Health / HD/ ED Examinations

The WUSV Board of Directors decided that a comprehensive certificate of health and fitness shall become mandatory with immediate effect to be issued in English by a veterinary doctor to be assigned by the respective national clubs in the individual WUSV member countries in order to be admitted to the WUSV World Championship and the WUSV Universal Championship. The certificate needs to be confirmed by the national club. The document required needs to be issued in a timely manner before the respective events, and has to cover all relevant aspects in terms of sporting activities and exercise such as joints, heart, lung, etc.

The fitness test that became mandatory in 2016 that requires the dogs to perform a jump on a table continues to apply.

With the implementation of the WUSV worldwide HD/ ED Certification Procedure the presentation of a HD/ ED diagnostic becomes mandatory for the participation at the WUSV championships from 2020 on.

The first world congress of the FCI – WUSV – COAPA was held from November 16 to November 17, 2016 with venue in Mexico-City.

From October 5 to October 9, 2016 the 29th WUSV World Championship took place in Meppen.
