Abridged Report WUSV General Annual Assembly – Elections 2018

Dear WUSV Member Clubs:
Ladies and Gentlemen:

As in the years before, also in this year the WUSV General Annual Assembly was held at the MEISTERSINGERHALLE in Nuremberg on September 10, 2018 following the SV BSZ Conformation Show.

And also, in this year the delegates and board of directors had to accomplish a rather comprehensive agenda. Item 5 on the agenda required for the election of the WUSV Board of Directors. A new vice president and two additional board members were to be newly elected.

Please be informed about the results as follows:

The delegates assigned an election committee with the following members:

  • Mr. Hartmut Setecki (WUSV Secretary General)
  • Mr. Clemens Lux (WUSV Senior Consultant)
  • Ms. Astrid Osten – Germany

Mr. Setecki served as the election official.

The following persons were proposed for the office of the vice president:

  • Dr Wolfgang Tauber (Austria)
  • Mr. René Rudin (Switzerland)

Both gentlemen presented themselves to the congregation.

For the voting procedure – and also for all further ballots – the delegates from the individual member countries were called up to collect their ballot cards which were to be completed in the ballot booth that was set up for that purpose. Under the supervision of the election committee, the cards had to be put into the properly sealed ballot box.

The vote counting revealed that Mr. René Rudin gained the majority of the votes, and thus became the new vice president to the WUSV.

The WUSV president, Professor Dr Heinrich Meßler gave thanks to Dr Tauber for the good cooperation during the past years and particularly acknowledged his outstanding dedication to the cause of the WUSV for a period that lasted for two full decades

Dr Tauber gave thanks and farewell to the congregation, and wished the WUSV all the best for the future to come. All those present raised from their chairs and rewarded Dr Tauber with standing ovations while he was leaving the stage.

During the second ballot the following persons were proposed for the office of the third WUSV board member:

  • Mr. Imran Husain (Pakistan)
  • Mr. Raino Flügge (Canada)

Both gentlemen presented themselves to the congregation.

The vote counting revealed that Mr. Imran Husain gained the majority of the votes, and thus became the third board member, and was thus acknowledged for another term in office. He gave thanks to the congregation and for the trust he felt honoured with.

During the third and final ballot the following persons were proposed for the office of the fourth WUSV board member:

Mr. Roberto Caputi (Ecuador)
Mr. Raino Flügge (Canada).

Both gentlemen presented themselves to the congregation.

The vote counting revealed that Mr. Roberto Caputi gained the majority of the votes, and thus became the fourth WUSV board member.

The WUSV President, Professor Dr Heinrich Meßler, gave thanks to the previous incumbent, Mr. Francis Reuther, for all his efforts to the benefit of the organization, and wished him all the best for the future to come. Again, all those present raised from their chairs and rewarded Mr. Reuther with standing ovations. Mr. Reuther bowed with thanks before he left the stage.

After the newly elected board members took their respective places at the executive table, the regular agenda of the general annual assembly was continued.

We would once again like to use this opportunity to express our sincerest thanks to Dr Wolfgang Tauber and Mr. Francis Reuther for their accomplishments and unconditional personal commitment towards our common cause and wish them all the best for the future to come!

We wish the newly elected board members – Mr. René Rudin, Imran Husain and Roberto Caputi – a successful and enjoyable term in office. And we wish them a lucky and firm hand in their forward-looking and responsible offices.
